Exodus 17:6
Exodus 17:6, “Behold! – I shall stand before you by the rock in Horeb; you shall strike the rock and water will come forth from it and the people will drink. Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel .”
HASHEM is commonly referred to as the Rock of Israel. He supports and sustains all those who have emunah (faith) and bitachon (trust) in Him. This symbolism is adopted by some Christians who believe it also refers to their religion, claiming the rock hit by Moses represents their deity, whom they believe to be a rock that supplies people with spiritual water. This is one of many verses in the Hebrew Bible, presented by Christians to prove their beliefs, that in reality has no indication of Christianity in its words or message.
